Ministry of Finance Participates in the 17th Meeting of the Committee of Heads and Directors of Tax Authorities of the Gulf Cooperation Council

The Ministry of Finance participated today, Tuesday, in the proceedings of the 17th meeting of the Committee of Heads and Directors of Tax Authorities in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held in the Bahraini capital of Manama, with Asil Al-Munaifi, Deputy Minister of Finance, chairing the Kuwaiti delegation.
In a press statement, the Ministry of Finance said that the meeting discussed several issues related to the implementation of excise tax and value-added tax (VAT) in GCC countries, most notably an agreement to redefine energy drinks for tax policy purposes.
It is worth noting that the agreed recommendations will be submitted to the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee for presentation at its next meeting, scheduled to take place in October 2026.
