Soon... the Houthi “buries himself”
“The Houthis have opened a door they cannot bear.” With this firm message, Saudi Arabia responded to the escalation by the Houthi militia, which once again attacked Saudi territory, targeting civilian and economic landmarks in Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Najran, resulting in 73 civilian casualties, including women and children. This comes amid widespread Gulf and Arab solidarity with Saudi Arabia and reaffirmations of support for the Kingdom in the face of any threat to its security and sovereignty.
Reinforcing the stance of Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, who emphasized that the Kingdom will not hesitate to use all available means to protect its interests and defend itself, the Coalition for the Legitimacy confirmed its resolve to take necessary measures to deter the Houthis and neutralize threat sources. This escalation coincided with intensified clashes inside Yemen and advances by government forces on multiple fronts in Al-Jawf, Al-Bayda, and Taiz.
Prince Faisal bin Farhan stated that “the Houthis have opened a door they cannot bear,” viewing the Houthi group’s actions as an attempt to export its internal problems in Yemen to Saudi Arabia.
He added that the Houthis resort to violence whenever they find themselves in a difficult position, noting that the group insists on imposing further suffering on the Yemeni people rather than responsibly engaging in the political process.
While the Saudi Foreign Ministry renewed its firm rejection of the hostile approach and criminal behavior that this militia has persisted in, threatening the security and stability of Yemen and its Arab and Islamic surroundings, and its consistent rejection of all peace efforts, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jassem Al-Budaiwi strongly condemned the terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi militia against southern Saudi Arabia. He affirmed that these repeated attacks once again reveal the militia’s malicious intentions and demonstrate its explicit rejection of all efforts and initiatives aimed at achieving peace and stability in Yemen.
For its part, Kuwait, in a statement issued by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the Houthi militia’s attacks. It reaffirmed its absolute solidarity with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, standing by its side and supporting all measures taken to safeguard its sovereignty, preserve its security and stability, protect its interests, and shield its people and residents on its territory. Kuwait emphasized that the security of Saudi Arabia is an integral part of the security of the State of Kuwait and the GCC member states.
Earlier, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, the official spokesperson for the Coalition for the Legitimacy forces in Yemen, confirmed that the Coalition’s joint command would take all necessary operational measures to deter this terrorist militia and confront its hostile approach with firmness. He added that the Coalition would also take all necessary precautions and measures to respond to threat sources and neutralize their danger.
