Court of Accounts: Unifying Gulf Efforts to Enhance Supervisory Work

Deputy Undersecretary for Administrative, Financial, Legal, and Preliminary Supervision Affairs, Dr. Saud Al-Zamanan, told KUNA on the sidelines of the meeting on Tuesday that there are visible efforts by all member states to take vigorous steps toward advancing supervisory work and elevating the performance of the Gulf system.

Al-Zamanan pointed out that the convergence and complementarity of efforts among Gulf institutions reflect their interest in keeping pace with all new developments and their belief in the importance of joint work, which would propel the Gulf’s progress in the field of supervision and accountability, and achieve all future aspirations and ambitions.

He noted that the meeting discussed the General Secretariat’s report on training programs implemented in 2025 and 2026, as well as the events that the Audit Bureaus of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries will host during the GCC Week for Financial and Administrative Supervision.

The chairmen approved the recommendation of the deputies from their 27th meeting to refer the issue of establishing an artificial intelligence-supported electronic platform, containing the outputs of the Committee of the Audit Bureaus of the GCC countries, to the Technical Committee of the Audit Bureaus of the GCC countries, for further study with the participation of specialists, and to examine it from administrative, financial, legal, and technical perspectives, and to provide opinions on the feasibility of establishing the platform.

For his part, Meshal Al-Filakaawi, Director of the Technical Office of the Acting Undersecretary of Accounting, emphasized that his recognition among outstanding employees of the Audit Bureaus of the GCC Cooperation Council represents an appreciation of the efforts made in the field of supervisory work and reflects the Gulf interest in motivating supervisory cadres and encouraging them to continue excelling and contributing.

On the sidelines of the meeting, during which several outstanding employees of the Gulf supervisory agencies were honored, Al-Filakaawi expressed his pride in representing the Audit Bureau, as the highest supervisory authority in the country, and in earning the trust of the Bureau’s leadership. He affirmed that the recognition and representation embody the excellence of all Bureau employees and are the fruit of a professional career spanning more than 29 years in the field of supervisory work.
