18.68 billion dinars in investments in securities

The total value of funds invested in securities investment portfolios reached approximately 18.68 billion Kuwaiti dinars by the end of the first half of 2026, with 8,330 portfolios managed by 38 companies.
Data from the Capital Markets Authority showed that 5,185 portfolios were managed on behalf of clients, accounting for about 62 percent of the total, while 1,709 were custody portfolios, representing 21 percent, compared to 1,436 managed by companies, accounting for 17 percent.
Active portfolios held the largest share, with 6,642 portfolios, representing about 80 percent of the total, compared to 1,688 suspended portfolios, equivalent to 20 percent.
In terms of value, securities accounted for approximately 18.18 billion dinars of the total portfolio funds, compared to 502.2 million dinars in market value for cash, meaning that securities constituted about 97.3 percent of the total portfolio value. Custody portfolios led in value, with a total of 7.79 billion dinars, including 7.72 billion dinars in securities and 73.2 million dinars in market value for cash.
Portfolios managed by companies ranked second, with a total value of 6.11 billion dinars, distributed between 5.79 billion dinars in securities and 313.3 million dinars in market value for cash, while portfolios managed by clients ranked third at 4.78 billion dinars, including 4.67 billion dinars in securities and 115.7 million dinars in market value for cash. According to customer type, the number of Kuwaiti customers was 4,622, compared to 1,831 non-Kuwaiti customers, totaling 6,453. Natural persons held the largest share, with 5,511 customers, compared to 942 institutional customers.
