Iran's Vice President Rejects Internet Restrictions

Arif, speaking at a meeting in the city of Qom, stated that programs designed to bypass internet censorship, known as Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), also pose a security threat, and that his country has suffered from this problem during recent wars.

Arif noted that VPN applications have become a common means for Iranians to circumvent internet restrictions, amid the bans imposed by authorities for years on several foreign platforms, such as Telegram, Facebook, X, and YouTube.
