Putin confirms to Trump that there are no “hostile plans” regarding Europe

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a “very frank” phone call with his American counterpart, Donald Trump, following his meeting with envoys in Moscow to discuss ending the war with Ukraine, and stressed “that we have never had any hostile plans toward Europe.”
Putin received the envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, on Saturday, before they traveled to Kyiv on an unprecedented visit during which they met President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The US president said his envoys brought with them a proposal to end the war.
Oshakhev added that Putin “also pointed to what the Americans could realistically do to quickly end hostilities.”
Several parties have accused the Kremlin of being behind a sabotage campaign against European supporters of Ukraine, allegations that Moscow denies.
