Othman Al-Mutairi to "Al-Rai": The scenes are part of... "Story and Decision"

Young broadcaster Othman Al-Mutairi has unveiled his social program “A Story and a Decision,” which he co-hosts with writer and broadcaster Falool Al-Filakawi, under the direction of Ali Al-Qallaf, and which will air on Kuwait Television.

Speaking to Al-Rai about the program’s features, Al-Mutairi said, “Every person lives through many stories, situations, choices, moments of hesitation, and decisions that can completely change the course of their life. From this premise, the story of ‘A Story and a Decision’ began, with a simple yet profound question: What if we placed a person in front of their own story and asked them to make a decision?”

He added, “My colleague and dear sister, Falool Al-Filakawi, and I were thinking: How can we present a different program that does not end at a fixed time, but instead connects with the viewer and allows them to live the story and reflect on its details, perhaps seeing themselves or someone close to them through it? We were looking for a program that carries a message, wisdom, and a lesson, and most importantly, a decision.”

He continued, “Frankly, Falool was a significant addition to the idea from the very beginning, because she is not just a colleague at work, but a queen of pen and creativity, possessing a beautiful ability to propose ideas and articulate them in a different way. I am very happy to work with her and benefit from her ideas and creativity. Her presence in any program is always a genuine addition, something I have witnessed in more than one experience that brought us together.”

He noted that after he and his colleague Falool developed the concept, it was approved by the management of Kuwait Television, after which the production team was formed under the direction of Ali Al-Qallaf, with Abdulwahab Al-Dhaidi as assistant director. The concept was then handed over to producer Fahd Walid for further development and refinement.

Al-Mutairi concluded, “From the outset, we were keen to make the program distinctive not only in its presentation but also in its filming, ensuring that the visuals and events remain close to the viewer and keep them engaged from the beginning of the story to the moment of decision, because our goal is for the viewer to become part of the story, not merely an observer.”
