Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour Imposes Editorial Test for Promotion of Cooperative Control Function Holders

Al-Huwail said in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the decision comes after approval by the Civil Service Bureau and as part of developing the regulations governing the career progression of personnel in cooperative oversight roles, ensuring that advancement to higher job levels is linked to professional competence and the necessary technical knowledge.

She added that passing the written examination would complement the experience requirements and other prerequisites for assuming the higher job level, so that career progression would not be based solely on length of service, but would be coupled with proof of competence and the ability to undertake the tasks and responsibilities of the higher level.

She noted that the examinations also cover principles of governance, integrity, and conflict of interest, as well as technical aspects related to each field, and pointed out that the decision set the passing score at no less than 70 percent of the total marks.

She emphasized the continued development of the cooperative oversight system and the enhancement of its staff’s efficiency, in order to support governance and discipline, safeguard contributors’ funds, and elevate performance standards in the cooperative sector.
