Khaled Al-Sabah: Kuwait's ports are open, and our commitment to clients and partners remains firm

Sheikh Khaled Ahmad Al Sabah, Managing Director of International Marketing at Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), stated that Kuwait continues to strengthen its relationships with its clients and partners in global energy markets, focusing on building a stronger and more resilient future.

Speaking at the APPEC 2026 conference held in Singapore, Sheikh Khaled Al Sabah said, “Our ports are open, and we will continue to enhance our relationships with our clients and partners as we build a stronger and more resilient future together.”

His remarks came as KPC participated in one of Asia’s leading specialized conferences in the oil and energy industry, which brings together top executives from the sector and representatives of global oil, trading, and energy companies.

Sheikh Khaled Al Sabah also noted, “We currently operate our own fleet... and we are exploring the market for opportunities to purchase additional tankers.”

He added that the corporation is also considering options such as laying pipelines through neighboring countries and building storage facilities to supply its clients with crude oil and petroleum products amid the war between the United States and Iran, according to Reuters.

He further stated that maritime shipping has become “a highly sought-after commodity, and I believe every shipowner is very happy.”

Reuters reported that Sheikh Khaled Al Sabah later said on the sidelines of the conference that the corporation has so far continued to supply all its clients, albeit in smaller quantities compared to pre-war levels.
