"Affairs": Education continues for children in care up to university

- Provision of school supplies and enrollment of children in schools... and programs for all categories under care

- 30 students in classrooms... and a training season for seniors starting after September 15

Dr. Jassem Al-Kandari, Director of the General Administration of Social Care at the Ministry of Social Affairs, confirmed that the administration is implementing a comprehensive set of programs, activities, and events tailored to the needs of various categories under social care, including seniors, juveniles, and orphaned children. He pointed out that carefully designed plans have been developed to address the specific needs and characteristics of each group.

Speaking to "Al-Rai," Al-Kandari stated that the administration has begun its preparations and arrangements for the new academic year, particularly at the level of the Juvenile Affairs Department and the Family Foster Care Department. He clarified that the necessary school supplies have been provided for the children under care, in line with the commitment to creating suitable conditions for them to start their academic year.

He added that each department has presented a well-thought-out plan for programs, activities, and events suited to the categories under its supervision. He emphasized that the coming period will witness the implementation of many specialized programs, alongside the launch of a training season for seniors, scheduled to begin after the 15th of this month.

Al-Kandari explained that the Juvenile Affairs Department includes a special school affiliated with the Ministry of Education, where children of school age are enrolled and taught according to the curricula approved by the ministry.

He noted that the number of juveniles enrolled in education is approximately 30 students. He clarified that a group of children from the Child Welfare Home have also been enrolled in external schools after completing the acquisition of the necessary official documentation.

He affirmed that the administration places great importance on education, and that the educational journey of children under care does not stop at a certain stage but continues through higher education levels, noting that there are university students among the orphaned children.
