Kuwait at Arab Foreign Ministers’ Consultations: We Need an Arab Deterrent to Confront Aggressions

Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Hamad Al-Mushaan chaired, on Monday, Kuwait’s delegation participating in the consultative meeting of Arab foreign ministers and the Arab League Council meeting at the ministerial level, during its 166th ordinary session, held at the headquarters of the Arab League Secretariat in Cairo.

During the two meetings, participants discussed recent developments in regional situations and efforts to enhance security and stability in the region, alongside ways to support joint Arab action and debated agenda items.

In Kuwait’s statement before the Arab League Council, Al-Mushaan reaffirmed Kuwait’s steadfast position in the face of Iranian aggression and attacks by its proxies, and its resolve to safeguard its security and sovereignty, while reiterating Kuwait’s full solidarity with sister and friendly countries subjected to such attacks. He called for the formulation of a unified, clear, and firm Arab stance against attacks on Arab countries, regardless of their source.

Al-Mushaan also reiterated Kuwait’s condemnation of Israeli aggression against Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon, emphasizing the need to develop mechanisms for joint Arab action and to advance the concept of collective Arab security from political solidarity to deterrence and prevention, while enhancing the role of the Arab League in translating common positions into effective action and tangible results.
