Oman: We have concluded the escort of the Saudi tanker 'Sidr' and evacuated 16 crew members

The Omani Maritime Security Center announced on X that 16 crew members of the Saudi-owned tanker Sidr, which had previously been targeted in an Iranian attack, have been evacuated.

Saudi Arabia announced last Wednesday that the attack on the tanker, owned by Al-Bahri Shipping Company, resulted in the deaths of two Filipino sailors.

The center stated that relevant authorities completed support and assistance operations for the oil tanker (SIDR), which flies the flag of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, after it was hit by a projectile two nautical miles northwest of Musandam Governorate.

A ship from the Royal Navy of Oman provided logistical support to the tanker’s 25-member crew, evacuating 16 of them and providing necessary medical care. The incident resulted in the deaths of two crew members.
