Israeli assessments suggest Tehran is likely to launch a broad offensive on four fronts

The Israeli military launched a surprise exercise at the General Staff level, aimed at testing readiness to respond to a sudden, multi-front event. This comes amid security assessments indicating that Iran is preparing for a broad, coordinated attack against Israel across multiple fronts simultaneously, in a scenario resembling the October 7, 2023 attack, but involving all factions of what is referred to as the “Iranian Axis.”

According to those assessments, Tehran seeks to synchronize the actions of its forces with Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthi rebels in Yemen, and its allied militias in Iraq, as part of a single campaign, as reported by the Jerusalem Post.

A military assessment last month noted coordination between Hamas and Hezbollah, with Iranian assistance, as part of an effort to increase pressure from both the northern and southern fronts simultaneously.

Recent reports also mentioned meetings held by senior officials in the Quds Force with Hezbollah, the Houthis, and Iraqi militias to discuss expanding the scope of confrontation, while Iranian advisors were actively engaged on the ground.

As part of this exercise, commanders of all commands and brigades were summoned under the Operations Directorate’s 2026 training program.
