For her part, the US State Department announced on Friday evening its approval of a potential deal to sell Bell 412EPX helicopters and related equipment to Iraq for $150 million, according to a statement issued by the department on Friday.

According to the department, “the proposed deal would support US foreign policy and national security by helping to enhance the security of its strategic partner.”
