Trump 'delighted' by Harry and Meghan's departure from America

In response to a question about the recent announcement by Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, that they intend to leave California after six years, Trump said, “I’m happy about that. I was never a fan of theirs.”

The couple returned to Britain in late August. They had stepped down from their official royal duties in 2020 when they moved to the United States.

Trump added, “I think they treated the royal family with great disrespect. I didn’t like that.” He also referred to his “good relationship” with the late Queen Elizabeth and her successor, King Charles, who is undergoing cancer treatment.

Meghan, who has a Black mother and a white father, stated that during her pregnancy, there were “concerns and discussions within the royal family about how dark the baby’s skin would be at birth.”

Prince William, Harry’s older brother, defended the royal family following these allegations, saying, “We are not racist.”

Harry and Meghan are expected to remain distant from performing royal duties after their return to Britain.

A person close to the couple said last month that they had planned to move to a location outside London for an extended period with their two children, Prince Archie (seven) and Princess Lilibet (five), who will be studying in Britain.

It remains unclear what has changed for the couple, but Harry has expressed his wish for his children to spend some time in Britain.
