Noura Al-Aif to Al-Rai: "You've started it"... When life begins anew!
Singer Nora Al-Aflah has finally released her latest musical work, “Fik Ibda” (“It Started With You”), affirming in a statement to Al-Rai that the song expresses a state of love that begins at first sight and gradually grows until it transforms into complete attachment to the beloved. She noted that she chose the track because of its direct and simple emotional feeling, which reaches the listener without complexity.
She added, “My song is now available to all my fans everywhere. I want them to listen to it and share their opinions with me. I am very excited to know how they feel about it, because for every song I present, I hope it reaches people exactly as I felt it. So please do not withhold your support.”
She continued, “The title of the song, produced by Music Al-Hanan, perfectly encapsulates its feeling, as it portrays someone entering your life and making you feel that life has started anew. From the first line, where I sing, ‘With you, my life began, and I started to love,’ to the end of the song, we experience a complete love journey filled with the joy of meeting, passion, attachment, and even the fear of separation.”
She added, “What I liked most about it is that its emotions are clear and straightforward. There is no evasion or complexity; it is an open confession of love in all its forms, from the moment I sing, ‘With a breathless sigh, I fell in love with you,’ to the feeling that this person has become an essential part of your life, to the point of saying, ‘If you were to leave, I would still suffer.’”
Nora pointed out that the simplicity of the lyrics, written by poet Hamza Mohsen, was one of the elements that attracted her to the work. She said, “Sometimes, simple words are closer to the heart, especially in emotional songs. When I sing, ‘My love, my love,’ and ‘My darling, my darling,’ the idea is direct, but it is the feeling behind the words that gives them value. Therefore, I hope my audience experiences this feeling while listening to it.”
Regarding the musical aspect, she said, “I also liked that the song carries a clear Iraqi character in its vocabulary and spirit, which gave it a special flavor. The melody by Thair Hazem and the arrangement by Louay Amer beautifully served the emotional tone. I felt that all elements worked together to produce the song in the way we had hoped. I also cannot forget the excellent mixing and mastering by Suhail Al-Awadi, which added more brilliance and beauty.”
On her collaboration with the production team, she clarified, “I like it when every detail of the song is complete, from the lyrics and melody to the arrangement, recording, mixing, and mastering, because a song is ultimately a collective effort. Each person contributes a part of their spirit and expertise to reach the final result.”
