Erawla praises Parkola's mindset

Liverpool - AFP - Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola said that Bradley Barcola arrived at the club with the “right mindset,” after clearly expressing his desire to join the English Premier League giant from French club Paris Saint-Germain.

The 24-year-old French striker became Liverpool’s second most expensive signing in the club’s history on Monday, joining the team for a fee that could reach £124 million ($167 million).

Only the £125 million Liverpool paid Newcastle last year for Swedish international Alexander Isak exceeds the value of the left-winger’s deal.

Iraola welcomed the arrival of the player, who comes from the winner of the Champions League in the past two seasons, confirming that he will be available for Friday’s match against Ipswich.

The Spanish manager told reporters: “It was one of our priorities, let’s say, to sign a very, very good player in that position.”

He added, “I also think he came with the right mindset. I knew from him that he really wanted Liverpool. He just wanted to come here, and I think that’s a good first sign.”

The former Bournemouth manager added, “He is in a good position, but we must also take into account that he hasn’t had playing time in pre-season matches.”
