CENTCOM: Our forces strictly enforce the “Iran blockade” and have rerouted 86 ships

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that it had rerouted 86 commercial vessels since the resumption of the U.S. embargo on Iranian ports in mid-July.

In a statement, CENTCOM said that as of September 2, U.S. forces had rerouted 86 commercial ships, halted three vessels, and inspected two others to ensure full compliance with the sanctions imposed on Iran.

Earlier, CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper affirmed that U.S. forces had prevented Iran from exporting any oil from its coastal waters since the embargo was reinstated.
