KUNA Director: Necessity of Keeping Pace with Rapid Media Developments

Mohammed Al-Muna’i, Acting Director General of the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination among Arab news agencies to contribute to the development of joint media work and enhance professional performance standards. He stressed the need to keep pace with the rapid developments in the media sector and communication technologies.
This came during a meeting of the General Secretariat of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) on Wednesday in the Jordanian capital, Amman, with the participation of directors and representatives from the Kuwaiti (KUNA), Saudi (SPA), Omani (ONA), Moroccan (MAP), and Jordanian (Petra) news agencies, as well as the Federation’s General Secretariat.
For his part, FANA Secretary-General Dr. Fadi Ayar affirmed during the meeting that FANA has succeeded in recent years in expanding its network of cooperation and professional relations. He noted that the Federation places great importance on human resource development in Arab news agencies by implementing specialized training and qualification programs targeting various journalistic and technical staff, thereby contributing to enhancing the efficiency of workers and keeping pace with the rapid developments in the media industry.
