Ministry of Public Works Enters New Phase of Sustainability Using Solar Energy
In a move reflecting its ongoing commitment to sustainability and enhancing energy efficiency, Al-Mabani announced the installation and operation of solar panels for the first time at its headquarters in The Avenues, Kuwait, as part of the company’s strategy to expand the use of renewable energy solutions and strengthen its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices, thereby contributing to reducing the environmental impact of its operations and supporting its direction toward a more sustainable future.
The system consists of 104 solar panels that rely on modern technologies for power generation, with a total capacity of 65 kilowatts peak (kWp). Its annual production is expected to reach approximately 102,650 kilowatt-hours of clean electricity, contributing to a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions by about 67 tons annually.
This marks the first time Al-Mabani has relied on solar panels to generate power at its headquarters in The Avenues, Kuwait. The commissioning of the system represents an initial step within a broader direction toward increasing reliance on solar energy, thereby enhancing energy consumption efficiency and supporting the company’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions.
The installation of the solar panels aligns with Al-Mabani’s trend toward gradually expanding the use of renewable energy solutions at its headquarters, and exploring further opportunities and technologies that could increase reliance on solar energy to meet its future electricity needs.
