Al-Tabtabaee Honors Kuwaiti Champions at the International Earth Science Olympiad
Kuwait’s Minister of Education, Jalal Al-Tabtabaee, received on Wednesday the Kuwaiti students who won at the International Earth Science Olympiad held in Turin, Italy. The meeting took place in his office at the Ministry’s General Secretariat and was attended by several senior officials from the Ministry of Education. The minister honored the students and their supervisors in recognition of their outstanding achievements, which have elevated Kuwait’s name at international scientific forums.
On this occasion, Al-Tabtabaee emphasized that the scientific excellence embodied by our student sons is a badge of honor for Kuwait. The medals they won are a culmination of their efforts, perseverance, and scientific capabilities, and a source of pride for the distinguished performance they delivered in an international competition that brought together elite students from various countries around the world. He noted that honoring them today reflects a firm reality: Kuwait has always been, and continues to be, a cradle for the distinguished and creative, brimming with the promising talents and minds of its sons, capable of competing and achieving, and raising the nation’s name at international forums.
Al-Tabtabaee added that the Ministry views these achievements as a motivation to continue investing in the capabilities of gifted and outstanding students, working to discover their talents early and refine them through specialized training programs and scientific participation, thereby contributing to the preparation of a generation equipped with the knowledge and skills needed for the future. At the same time, the minister praised the efforts of the team supervisors, commending their follow-up, training, and preparation of the students. He stressed that achieving these results is the product of comprehensive cooperation among the students, their families, supervisors, and educational institutions, serving as an example of the importance of integrated efforts in supporting student excellence.
Al-Tabtabaee also affirmed that the Ministry of Education will continue to support students with talents and scientific capabilities, providing them with opportunities to participate in international forums and competitions. This will enhance Kuwait’s presence in scientific fields and consolidate a culture of excellence and innovation among students.
He pointed out that the Gifted Students Office constitutes a fundamental pillar within the Ministry’s system for caring for gifted and outstanding students. It does so by discovering their talents, following up on their development, and providing comprehensive support, assistance, and care. The office works to develop their capabilities and prepare them to participate in local and international scientific competitions, with special attention given to students participating in international forums and those who have achieved advanced rankings and medals. This ensures the sustainability of their care and investment in their excellence, continuing to develop their capabilities so they can achieve further accomplishments and raise Kuwait’s name at international forums.
