CFI Appoints Federico Cherulli as Chairman of Its Board of Directors
CFI Group, a global leader in online trading services, announced today the appointment of Federico Schirolli as Chairman of its Board of Directors, marking the latest stage in the Group’s evolution toward a more robust and scalable institutional structure.
This appointment follows a period marked by record trading performance and the Group’s continued international expansion. It reflects a deliberate strategy to develop CFI’s leadership and governance framework, aligning with the broadening scope of its business and growing ambitions. This move comes after the appointment of Ziad Melhem as Chief Executive Officer in June 2025 and the strengthening of the Board through the appointment of independent directors in November 2025.
As part of this transition, co-founders Hisham Mansour and Eduardo Fakhoury will step down from their current roles as Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Board, respectively, to become Non-Executive Directors on the Board of CFI Group. Both will continue their Board membership and remain fully committed to the Group’s success, while the executive management team continues its operations and CFI’s approved strategy remains unchanged.
Schirolli brings over 20 years of leadership experience in the regulated financial services sector, having served as Chief Executive Officer and holding various senior executive positions at financial brokerage and asset management firms. His expertise encompasses business leadership, governance, regulatory frameworks, international growth, and the expansion of regulated financial services businesses.
Schirolli will lead the Board and work closely with the management team to support the Group’s next phase of growth, with a clear focus on scalability, operational excellence, and international expansion.
Commenting on the appointment, Hisham Mansour, Co-Founder and Non-Executive Director of CFI Group, said: “Our ambition from the outset was for CFI to grow beyond its founders and continue its long-term development. Federico’s appointment represents a significant step in this journey. I have known Federico and worked with him for many years; he is a seasoned expert in this sector, and we share many insights and values regarding how to build companies on foundations that ensure their long-term sustainability and success. Eduardo and I remain fully committed to CFI’s success, and we have full confidence in Federico and the team as CFI enters this new phase.”
Ziad Melhem, Chief Executive Officer of CFI Group, added: “Every market we enter means a new license, a new regulatory jurisdiction, and clients who expect our long-term presence and commitment. Growth and business expansion not only bring opportunities but also impose greater responsibilities; therefore, governance is no less important than growth itself. I am delighted to welcome Federico as Chairman of the Board and look forward to the high standards he will ensure we uphold.”
Federico Schirolli, Chairman of the Board of CFI Group, stated: “For over 25 years, CFI has established a solid foundation that combines pioneering ambition with high institutional standards. This reflects the vision of Hisham and Eduardo and the strength of the team they successfully built. It is an honor for me to assume the role of Chairman at this pivotal stage in the Group’s development.”
He added: “As Chairman, my focus will be on working closely with the Board, Ziad, and the management team to continue building on these foundations, focusing on the right strategic priorities, and ensuring CFI’s continued growth with discipline, strong governance, and high standards, alongside the Group’s expansion across markets, products, and services.”
This appointment completes a carefully planned trajectory to strengthen CFI’s leadership and governance over the past two years, alongside continued investment in technology, products, and international expansion. With an experienced executive team, an independent board of directors, and an independent chair of the board, CFI enters its next phase backed by a robust governance framework, seasoned leadership, and a sustained ambition to expand its operations as a global trading and investment group.
