27 oil and service tenders awarded in a week
The Supreme Purchasing Committee for tenders of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and its subsidiaries canceled 27 tenders and practices during the last week of August last year. These covered works and services in drilling and production sectors, wellhead equipment and control systems, unconventional reservoir services, rock and fluid analysis, as well as technical, laboratory, and support services.
The value of the highest bids among the top 10 tenders reached approximately 127.9 million dinars. The wellhead equipment and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems tender for the Jurassic wells – Phase III, which is currently operational, led in terms of the highest bid value at around 59 million dinars, while the lowest among the bids from 15 companies that participated in the tender was 45.5 million dinars.
In the tender for Schlumberger’s technology access contract, the final bid submitted by Schlumberger Oilfield Eastern Limited amounted to 19.988 million dinars. This was in the eighth revision, which was opened on August 25 last year, after the original bid submitted in June had recorded 46.8 million dinars. Thus, Schlumberger reduced its bid in this tender by approximately 26.841 million dinars, equivalent to 57.3 percent of its original value.
In the tender for specialized services to characterize unconventional reservoirs, Schlumberger reduced its bid to 19.897 million dinars in the third revision, which was opened on August 25, compared to 25.213 million dinars in the original bid submitted in July last year.
In the tender for hydrochloric acid supply and related well services, Al-Taysir for Chemicals and Fertilizers Group submitted a bid valued at 10.166 million dinars. The tenders also included the supply of 15-meter wellheads and Christmas trees for deep drilling in the North Kuwait gas field, to which two bids were submitted: one from Schlumberger at 8.912 million dinars, and another from Al-Jaleea Trading and Contracting Company at 6.106 million dinars.
In the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) services tender, five companies submitted bids ranging between 4.319 million and 5.405 million dinars.
In the technical services sector, the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research submitted a bid valued at 3.33 million dinars for the single-source tender to provide rock and fluid analysis services. Additionally, Roche for Pharmaceutical Trading, Equipment, and Medical Supplies and Accessories submitted a final bid of 1.197 million dinars to provide a fully automated laboratory for chemical, immunological, and hematology analyses, down from 1.221 million dinars in the original bid and the first revision.
