Bubiyan Strengthens Partnership with Abdullah Al-Salem University to Support Digital Transformation and Build National Capabilities

As part of its strategic partnership with Abdullah Al-Salem University and its exclusive sponsorship of the Innovation Center, Boubyan Bank continued its efforts to support the development of national competencies and enhance digital knowledge by organizing a series of specialized training workshops for academic and teaching staff.

This initiative stems from Boubyan’s commitment to sharing its practical expertise and fostering knowledge exchange with academic institutions, thereby contributing to the preparation of national cadres capable of keeping pace with rapid developments in technical fields and enhancing institutional readiness for the demands of digital transformation.

The training workshops covered four main pillars: Artificial Intelligence and Academic Productivity, Computational Thinking and Data Analysis, Automation and Digital Innovation, and Cybersecurity and Business Sustainability. These sessions combined theoretical knowledge with practical application, focusing on leveraging modern technologies to develop the institutional work environment.

The workshop on “Artificial Intelligence and Institutional Productivity” highlighted key concepts and practical AI tools, outlining ways to utilize them in developing academic and research work and preparing educational content, alongside the responsible use of these technologies to uphold academic integrity.

The “Computational Thinking and Data Analysis” workshop focused on developing participants’ skills in problem-solving and building solutions systematically, as well as familiarizing them with data analysis tools and their application in interpreting academic and institutional indicators to support data-driven decision-making.

The “Automation and Digital Innovation” workshop reviewed the latest trends in automation and demonstrated how to leverage digital solutions to streamline academic and administrative procedures, improve efficiency, and adopt best practices in implementing innovative digital solutions.

The program concluded with the “Cybersecurity and Business Sustainability” workshop, presented by Ali Al-Mutawa, Senior Manager of Information Security at Boubyan Bank. He outlined major cyber threats and protection methods, emphasizing information security, social engineering, digital fraud, as well as artificial intelligence technologies and deepfakes.

Commenting on the initiative, Adel Al-Hamad, General Manager of the Human Resources Group at Boubyan Bank, affirmed that the bank places great importance on strengthening its strategic partnerships with academic institutions, particularly Abdullah Al-Salem University. He noted that these partnerships serve as a vital platform for converting practical expertise into sustainable institutional knowledge and contributing to the development of national competencies capable of keeping pace with rapid transformations in the financial and technical sectors.

He added that rapid advancements in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity have elevated these fields beyond mere technical domains, making them essential elements for business continuity, sustainability, and trust enhancement. This requires continued investment in developing specialized skills and promoting a culture of digital risk awareness across all levels.

He clarified that these workshops are part of a series of initiatives implemented by the bank through its exclusive sponsorship of the university’s Innovation Center, aiming to leverage its expertise in AI and digital transformation and transfer it to academic institutions, thereby enhancing institutional readiness to keep pace with rapid technological changes.

Al-Hamad pointed out that investing in national talent represents one of the main pillars of the “Boubyan” strategy, particularly in the fields of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data analysis to support digital transformation and enhance the competitiveness of the academic sector. He emphasized that the bank continues to strengthen its partnerships with universities and specialized entities, contributing to consolidating the foundations of Kuwait’s digital economy and building a more prepared digital ecosystem.

For his part, Dr. Fawaz Al-Anzi, Acting Vice President for Planning, Institutional Excellence, and Innovation at Abdullah Al-Salem University, affirmed that the initiative aligns with the university’s direction toward enhancing collaboration and integration with private sector institutions, linking its academic, research, and innovative capabilities with the needs of vital sectors in Kuwait.

He clarified that the rapid developments in artificial intelligence, data analysis, cybersecurity, and digital transformation require continuous interaction between universities and the business sector, enabling the exchange of expertise and experiences, anticipating future challenges, and developing innovative solutions that contribute to strengthening the digital economy and building national talent.

He added that cooperation with “Boubyan” represents a model of partnership between the university and the private sector, where academic knowledge, research, and innovation are integrated with the expertise and professional practice of the financial sector, thereby opening broader horizons for collaboration in research, development, and innovation, and enhancing the university’s role in serving society and supporting national development and the economy.
