30 Smoking Violations in Al-Mubarakiya

An intensive field campaign carried out by the Environmental Police Department, under the Sector of Directorates of Security Affairs, to track environmental violations in the Al-Mubarakiya market, resulted in issuing 30 smoking violations against individuals and one littering violation, as well as a violation against one establishment for allowing patrons to smoke inside its premises. All legal procedures were taken against the violators.

The Ministry of Interior stated via its Instagram account that the campaign was part of the ministry’s continuous efforts to enforce the Environmental Protection Law and curb illegal behaviors to preserve public cleanliness and the city’s civilized appearance.

It clarified that the inspection tour targeted the enforcement of smoking violations in enclosed and semi-enclosed spaces, in addition to littering in non-designated areas.

In this context, it outlined the environmental penalties associated with these violations according to the law. A fine ranging from 50 to 100 Kuwaiti dinars is imposed for smoking in enclosed or semi-enclosed spaces, while the penalty for an establishment allowing smoking ranges from 1,000 to 5,000 Kuwaiti dinars. Littering incurs a fine ranging from 50 to 500 Kuwaiti dinars.
