7,530 weekly student participations in the "Summer Clubs"
In line with the directives of Minister of Education Jalal Al-Tabtabaee aimed at enhancing the role of educational institutions in utilizing students’ free time during the summer vacation, the Ministry of Education has concluded its free school summer clubs activities as part of a comprehensive plan designed to deliver an integrated educational experience.
The Ministry emphasized that operating the summer clubs reflects its commitment to continuing support for students during the summer break, providing a safe and stimulating educational environment that enhances their readiness for the new academic year.
In a statement, the Ministry noted that it operated 28 free school summer clubs distributed across various educational districts from July 5 to August 31, 2026. These clubs offered a diverse range of educational, academic, sports, scientific, technical, cultural, and scouting programs and activities.
The Ministry revealed that the summer clubs recorded approximately 7,530 student participations weekly, clarifying that this figure represents the total weekly attendance of students at the clubs, including both regular participants and new joiners across various programs and activities, reflecting the high level of interest and benefit derived from the offered summer programs.
The Ministry also highlighted that this year’s summer club plan saw an expansion in the types of programs offered, introducing scouting activities and practical studies for the first time, alongside the continuation of robotics, programming, debate, and sports activities.
Furthermore, the Ministry stressed that the school summer club plan gave special attention to students in special education schools by establishing two evening summer clubs for boys and girls. These clubs provided educational, social, physical, and artistic programs tailored to their special needs and aligned with their diverse abilities.
In conclusion, the Ministry announced that the evening school clubs will resume their activities in October, with details regarding the clubs, their programs, registration procedures, and schedules to be announced through official channels.
Dr. Abbas Al-Fili, head of the Capital Evening Summer Club, affirmed that the summer program provided students with an integrated experience combining sports, educational, and social activities. He noted that the club management, in collaboration with specialized trainers, was keen on offering diverse programs that helped students learn various sports skills and refine their physical and artistic abilities.
The Special Education Evening Summer Club also concluded its activities with a special ceremony held at Al-Raja’a Elementary School (Boys), attended by Hanadi Al-Attiyah, Acting Supervisor of Educational Affairs at the Special Education Schools Administration, and several parents, who joined their daughters in celebrating the conclusion of the club’s activities.
Al-Attiyah confirmed that the students acquired new knowledge and skills throughout their participation in the club, learning modern techniques, including artificial intelligence.
