KUNA briefs Kuwait Oil Company delegation on the operational mechanisms of its administrations and services

Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) hosted a delegation from Kuwait Oil Company, during which the delegation was briefed on the operational mechanisms of the various departments within KUNA’s editorial sector, its news services, the Information and Research Center, KUNA’s News Verification and Rumor-Response Observatory, the KUNA Smart Oasis, and other departments in the sector.
The delegation received a detailed explanation from Acting Editor-in-Chief Badr Al-Sharhan and department heads within the editorial sector on daily workflows, the stages of writing, editing, and producing news content in various formats, culminating in broadcasting it in Arabic, English, and French through KUNA’s general news bulletin and its various social media platforms. They also learned about image selection, post drafting, and headline optimization.
The Kuwait Oil Company delegation also visited the KUNA Smart Oasis, where they closely examined its operational nature and its crucial role in aligning with the concept of new media and leveraging artificial intelligence technologies in creating and delivering media content.
Delegation members toured the Information and Research Center, learning about its role and its scientific and professional methodology in handling news and information, archiving processes, compiling and categorizing news materials, and managing the diverse media formats used by KUNA. They were also briefed on the center’s production of reports, studies, periodicals, and research publications.
Additionally, the delegation visited KUNA’s News Verification and Rumor-Response Observatory, where they learned about its role in monitoring rumors and misleading news, as well as its strategy for rapidly and professionally combating and countering such content.
During the visit, Raim Al-Mi’ay, Head of Media Affairs at Kuwait Oil Company, praised KUNA’s media role, highlighting the agency’s status as a reliable source for local and international news and other journalistic content.
