Riyadh - AFP - The General Assembly of the Saudi Football Federation announced on Sunday the nomination of Badr bin Sulaiman Al-Rizayza as president of the federation’s board of directors for the sixth term (2026-2030), succeeding Yasser Al-Mosailem, who stepped down after the Saudi national team’s elimination from the 2026 World Cup.

The newly formed board of the Saudi Football Federation is composed as follows: Badr bin Sulaiman bin Abdullah Al-Rizayza as president; Louay bin Omar bin Awad Mushaibi as vice president; Lama bint Ibrahim bin Abdullah Bahyan as a member; Fahd bin Adnan bin Abdulrahman Al-Mansour as a member; Salman bin Mutab bin Khalid Al-Sudairi as a member; Thamer bin Abdullah bin Abdulkarim Al-Saadoun as a member; Omar bin Abdulrahman bin Ali Al-Jarisi as a member; Nicholas Arthur Coward as a member; and Gerard Bernard Ruddy as a member.

Al-Rizayza was the sole candidate for the presidency of the federation’s board, following the disqualification of competing lists and the preliminary approval of his own list, positioning him to lead the Saudi football system once formal election procedures are completed.

His candidacy comes about a month after he resigned from the presidency of the board of directors of Al-Qadsiah Club, marking a transition from managing a single Saudi club to competing for the leadership of the national federation.

His previous experience as president of Al-Qadsiah Club represents a prominent milestone in his career, while his bid for the federation presidency opens the door to a broader and more expansive managerial role within the football ecosystem.

Academically, Al-Rizayza holds a Master of Business Administration degree from California State University, Long Beach, and a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems. He has also completed executive education programs at the International Institute for Management Development in Switzerland and Stanford University in the United States.

Al-Rizayza possesses a career that blends sports, business, corporate governance, and investment. He serves on the board of directors of Aramco Stadium Company, in addition to holding board positions in several other companies.

He is also a founding partner and board member of Zadak, the National Academy of Culinary Arts, a non-profit organization dedicated to training and empowering Saudi talents in the culinary sector.

In the business sector, Al-Rizayza serves as Chief Executive Officer of Al-Rizayza Trading and Contracting Company, a second-generation family business operating across multiple fields, including food and beverage equipment trading, real estate, and supply of oil and gas sector equipment, as well as managing diverse investment portfolios.

Previously, Al-Rizayza served as president of the board of directors of the Eastern Province Chamber of Commerce. He also held the position of vice president of the National Committee for Young Business Leaders and president of the board of directors of the Aqal Group of Angel Investors. Additionally, he has participated in international economic business councils, including the Saudi-British Business Council.
