First loss for Nais

Paris - AFP - Paris Saint-Germain handed Nice their first defeat, winning 3-0 on Sunday in the second round of the French football league, securing their first victory under new English manager Liam Rosenior.

Mali international Lassine Sinayoko (21st minute, penalty), Algerian Samir Nasri (51st minute), and substitute Vincent Marchetti (89th minute) secured the first win for the Parisian side, which had drawn 0-0 in the opening match against Troyes.

This was also Rosenior’s first victory as manager of the club. The former Strasbourg and Chelsea coach joined Paris on July 7, replacing Antoine Kombouaré.

The start has been promising for Paris Saint-Germain at home, where they managed only seven victories last season at the Parc des Princes.

Sinayoko, who joined from Auxerre, opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a penalty, before Nasri doubled the lead with a curling shot following a pass from his compatriot Eliaquim Mangala (51st minute).

Substitute Marchetti sealed the victory with a powerful strike from inside the box in the 89th minute, just six minutes after coming on.

Nice’s tally remained at one point following their opening draw with Lorient. The club had narrowly avoided relegation last season by defeating Saint-Étienne in the promotion/relegation playoff.
