Kuwait keeps pace with regional developments through continuous diplomatic consultations
Kuwait is coordinating consultations with several sister countries to explore ways to de-escalate tensions and contain the escalation, thereby contributing to the enhancement of security and stability in the region.
Foreign Minister Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah continued his communications with his counterparts in Egypt, Qatar, and the Sultanate of Oman. The discussions covered the latest regional developments and related diplomatic efforts, as well as the assurance of the safety and freedom of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Foreign Ministry stated in a press release that the latest regional developments were reviewed during the calls, and diplomatic efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability in the region were discussed.
In the same context, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that the call was held within the framework of continuous consultation and coordination between the two sister countries regarding the rapid regional developments and ways to contain the escalation in the region.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry added in a statement that the two ministers discussed the latest regional developments and the current escalation, agreeing on the priority of de-escalation and a return to the diplomatic and negotiating track between Iran and the United States. They also reaffirmed their commitment to the Islamabad Memorandum as a framework that can be built upon to resume negotiations and reach political solutions that help spare the region from further tension and instability.
According to the Egyptian statement, the two ministers discussed security concerns in the region and emphasized the importance of addressing various sources of tension to enhance regional security and stability. They stressed the necessity of adhering to the principles of good neighborliness, respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, non-interference in their internal affairs, and working to settle disputes through peaceful and diplomatic means.
In the context of communications with sister Gulf countries, the Foreign Minister held a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani.
