Trump announces signing of a "major oil deal" with Venezuela

U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States has struck a major oil deal with Caracas, granting it control over the majority of Venezuela’s proven oil reserves, which exceed 65 billion barrels.

Trump described the agreement in a post on his platform, Truth Social, as “the largest oil deal in world history,” noting that it would more than double U.S. oil reserves.
