GCC Secretary-General and Bahraini Foreign Minister Discuss Gulf Efforts to Preserve Regional Security and Stability

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Al-Bedaiwi, held talks today, Thursday, with Bahraini Foreign Minister Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani on developments in the regional situation and the efforts undertaken by GCC states to preserve regional security and stability and safeguard their supreme interests.
The meeting took place during the Bahraini Foreign Minister’s reception of the GCC Secretary-General at the Ministry’s headquarters, on the occasion of his visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The two sides discussed the strenuous efforts undertaken by the General Secretariat to advance the process of joint GCC action, strengthen ties of integration and cooperation among the member states in all fields, and achieve further accomplishments and aspirations under the high directives of the GCC Heads of State, which will bring prosperity and development to the peoples of the Gulf states.
In the context of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s current chairmanship of the GCC, the two sides reviewed the items on the agenda of the 168th meeting of the GCC Ministerial Council, scheduled to be held at the General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh in September.
