September at the Jaber Cultural Centre... 5 diverse events in color and experience

With the arrival of the new season, the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre will welcome next September with a diverse rhythm, placing it once again at the heart of Kuwait’s musical and vocal scene.

Over the course of the month, five distinct events, varying in style and experience—subject to increase or decrease depending on circumstances—will take place on its stages. These events converge in one place, beginning with Mohamed Fadel Shaker performing songs by his father alongside his own works, moving on to the return of “Ya Hal Al-Samer” featuring voices of Kuwaiti heritage, passing through Saudi star Ayed Yousif, and transitioning to Egyptian artist Mohamed Mohsen, culminating in the “Batman 1989” experience, which combines cinema with live orchestral music.

This marks Mohamed’s second encounter with the Centre’s audience following his first performance in July 2025. This time, he will present a selection of his own works alongside a large number of his father’s songs, in an evening that bets on the warmth of the voice and the nostalgia of the song.

Following the success of the previous experience in summer 2025, the second edition of the “Ya Hal Al-Samer” evening returns, taking place on the stage of the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ali Concert Hall on September 14.

The musical evening will be conducted by Maestro Dr. Khaled Nouri, accompanied by his musical band and the choir, taking the audience into the atmosphere of Kuwaiti social gatherings, celebrating various colors of Kuwaiti vocal heritage, foremost among them the Samri art form.

The program will include a collection of the most famous Samri songs performed by major artists, including Abdullah Fadhala and Aisha Al-Murtada, along with a selection of Kuwaiti Al-Khamari, as well as Al-Ashoori and Al-Qadiri arts associated with names such as Awad Salem, Ouda Al-Muhanna, and others.

Saudi artist Ayed Yousif returns to his Kuwaiti audience again on Friday, September 18, where he will perform his second concert at the Centre on the stage of the National Theatre.

This encounter comes at a time when Ayed continues to solidify his presence as one of the most prominent contemporary Gulf voices, benefiting from a unique vocal style and clear performance sensibility, alongside a fan base that makes his concerts highly anticipated events for lovers of youth-oriented songs. He will celebrate with his audience his latest work, “Sadeet Muta’ammid” (Intentionally Ignored), while revisiting a collection of his new and old songs, accompanied by a musical band led by Maestro Ahmed Taha.

On September 24, Egyptian artist Mohamed Mohsen will make his first appearance before the Centre’s audience through the concert “Al-Maghna Hayat Al-Rooh” (The Song is the Life of the Soul), hosted in the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ali Concert Hall.

Mohsen will take the audience on a journey spanning from the songs of Sayed Darwish to contemporary Arabic music, accompanied by a traditional musical band led by Maestro Georges Ghattas, in an evening based on a special relationship between voice, musical delight, and memory.

In this experience, the audience will not merely watch the famous film, but will live its events accompanied by a live orchestral performance of its music, presented by the Emirates Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Nicholas Mann, creating an encounter between the big screen and live music.
