Al-Adwani is pleased with "As-Salmiya's points"

Al-Nassr coach Zahir Al-Adwani expressed his satisfaction with his team’s successful start in the top-tier Zain League following their victory over Al-Salmiya, describing the three points as “extremely important.”

Al-Nassr began their league campaign with a valuable 2-1 win at Al-Salmiya Stadium on Wednesday.

Adwani, who has returned to coach Al-Nassr after leaving the club years ago to manage Al-Fahaheel and then Al-Yarmouk, praised the players’ performance and the level they displayed in the match against a strong opponent like Al-Salmiya, which boasts standout players and an effective technical staff.

Adwani stressed that Al-“Anabi” (The Amber) entered the match with the aim of securing victory, even though some had predicted a win for Al-Salmiya, a possibility that remains theirs. He added that “the best is the one who imposes himself,” whether the coach is national or foreign.

Meanwhile, Brazilian midfielder Carlos Vinicius has been ruled out of the Kuwait national team’s plans ahead of their upcoming match against Al-Qadsiah in the second round of the league, scheduled for next Monday.

The “White” team’s management decided to part ways with Vinicius after he failed to meet expectations during the preparatory camp in London and in his appearance against Al-Arabi in the league opener. Rumors suggest the replacement could be Cameroonian defender Omar Gonzalez, formerly of Saudi club Al-Raed. In that case, Moroccan international Mehdi Bahra would return to his natural central midfield position in Kuwait’s lineup, having been deployed as a defender in the previous two seasons.
