Ministry of Islamic Affairs Discusses Gulf-Wide Development of Islamic and Waqf Work

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs showcased Kuwaiti experiences and initiatives at the 11th meeting of Assistant Ministers responsible for Islamic and Waqf affairs in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held at the General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The ministry clarified that the meeting discussed several agenda items, including the exchange of scientific research and experiences in the fields of Islamic affairs and the Gulf Week, to support a number of initiatives and proposals aimed at developing Islamic and Waqf work and enhancing cooperation among GCC member states.

It noted that the meeting reviewed proposals from the Kuwaiti General Secretariat for Waqf, which included the introduction of a national indicator for Waqf impact on society, the “Mafaz” competition to raise awareness about Waqf, charitable work, and volunteering, alongside discussions of various proposals and experiences presented by member states.

The ministry added that Kuwait’s participation in the meeting aligns with its support for the trajectory of joint Gulf cooperation and the enhancement of knowledge and experience exchange among GCC countries, contributing to the development of Islamic and Waqf affairs and the achievement of shared objectives.
