Kuwaiti Students Shine Globally, Winning 8 Medals in Earth Sciences

Kuwait, represented by the Ministry of Education, achieved a distinguished scientific accomplishment at the 19th International Geology Olympiad (Earth Sciences), held in Turin, Italy. The event brought together 42 countries from around the world and 166 students, with Kuwait participating as the sole Arab nation at this international scientific forum.

The Kuwaiti student team secured eight medals, comprising gold, silver, and bronze, an achievement that reflects the high scientific level of Kuwaiti students and underscores their ability to compete and attain top positions in international scientific arenas.

The medal tally for team members included one gold and one bronze medal for student Ghaliya Nasser Al-Anzi. She won the gold medal as part of the International Field Investigation Team and the bronze medal in the Earth Systems project. Meanwhile, student Kawsar Ammar Al-Qattan won two silver medals: one as part of the International Field Investigation Team and another in the Earth Systems project.

Student Narjes Hani Sabti earned a bronze medal in the International Field Investigation Team, while student Talal Ahmed Al-Mutairi won three medals: a silver in the International Field Investigation Team, a bronze in the Earth Systems project, and a bronze at the overall Olympiad level.

The Ministry of Education praised this achievement, emphasizing that the team’s results reflect the scientific capabilities and competitive skills of Kuwaiti students, as well as their serious efforts to develop their knowledge and achieve excellence in various scientific fields.

The Ministry stressed that participation in international Olympiads and competitions represents a vital opportunity to hone students’ talents, broaden their scientific horizons, and equip them with competitive experience that contributes to building a generation capable of representing Kuwait honorably on the international stage.

The Ministry congratulated the winning students on this prestigious achievement, expressing pride and admiration for their outstanding results, and commending their dedication, hard work, and competitive spirit, which helped elevate Kuwait’s name and secure this remarkable collection of medals.
