New European Moves to Use Frozen Russian Assets to Support Ukraine

The Financial Times reported on Thursday that several European Union countries, including Sweden, the Netherlands, Spain, and Poland, are urging Brussels to revive efforts to use frozen Russian sovereign assets to fund Ukraine.

Citing four sources, the newspaper said a letter from a coalition of countries to the European Commission would call on the EU’s executive body to resume work on plans to finance Ukraine using assets of the Russian central bank.
