23 violations and destruction of 48 kg of foodstuffs at Al-Aridiya Crafts Market and Qurain Markets

Two inspection rounds conducted by the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition at various food establishments in the Aradiya Craft Area and Al-Qurain Markets resulted in the issuance of 23 violations, the seizure of several infractions, and the destruction of 48 kilograms of food.
The Food Authority stated in a press release that the inspection in the Aradiya Craft Area was carried out by the Al-Farwaniya Governorate Inspection Department (Al-Reyah Food Inspection Center). It led to the destruction of 48 kilograms of food and the issuance of seven diverse violations, including breaches of health and general hygiene requirements, expired health licenses, handling of food, and employing workers without health certificates.
Regarding the campaign in the Al-Qurain Markets area, the Authority clarified that it was conducted in cooperation with relevant government entities, resulting in the issuance of 16 violations and the seizure of several infractions at food establishments.
It noted that the inspection campaign covered 35 food establishments. The violations included the handling of food unfit for human consumption and the operation of food establishments before obtaining a health license from the Authority.
The Authority added that the violations also included non-compliance with health and general hygiene requirements, as well as the handling of food without health certificates.
