Kuwait's Blue Team faces Oman

The Kuwait national basketball team begins its campaign in the Asian qualifiers for the 2029 Asia Cup with a match against Oman at 7:00 PM today, kicking off the group stage that also includes the host nation, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain.

The qualifiers will run until August 31, with the “Blue Team” aiming for a strong start in their Asian journey before continuing in the group stage and striving to secure a berth for the finals.

The national team enters the qualifiers under the guidance of their new Greek coach, Vasilis Pratsiakos, whom the Basketball Federation has contracted to lead the senior squad during the first qualifying window, leveraging his technical expertise and coaching record in the region.

The “Blues” have completed their preparations for the qualifiers through a training camp in Cairo, which featured a series of friendly matches aimed at enhancing their technical and physical readiness and reaching peak form ahead of the Asian competition.
