Volleyball Federation Honors Junior National Team for Winning Bronze at the Arab Championship

The Kuwait Volleyball Federation honored the Kuwaiti junior national team for securing third place and the bronze medal at the Arab Men’s U-17 Championship.

Dr. Jaber Al-Mari, the federation’s president, told KUNA on the sidelines of the award ceremony held at the federation’s headquarters in the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Hall, that the honor recognized the efforts of the players, coaching staff, and administrative team, and reaffirmed the federation’s commitment to developing the sport and enhancing Kuwait’s standing in international sporting arenas.

He noted that the team underwent a month-long training camp in Cairo under the guidance of Tunisian coach Mohamed Al-Sheikh ahead of the tournament, which took place in Bahrain from August 7 to 17. Kuwait finished third after defeating the Algerian national team 3-0.

Al-Mari added that the junior squad delivered an outstanding performance in their first-ever overseas competition, achieving a high placement despite challenges such as the suspension of local leagues and a period away from competitive matches, yet the players rose to the occasion.

He clarified that the federation recruited the Tunisian coach, who has a distinguished track record with various national teams, and emphasized his focus on nurturing young athletes as the foundation for future development and preparation for upcoming competitions.
