"U.S. Treasury: We launched the 'Economic Outcast' operation against Iran, under Trump's directives"

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that the United States, under the direction of President Donald Trump, launched today the “Economic Outcast” operation against Iran.

He affirmed that Washington would exclude from the dollar system anyone involved in Iranian money laundering, amid US efforts to increase pressure on Tehran nearly six months into the war.

Bessent said at a press conference, “Any entity that facilitates money laundering on behalf of Iran will be excluded from the US dollar system. The countdown has just begun.”
