Kuwait U-16 loses to Iran in the Asian Youth Championship

Kuwait’s junior handball team suffered a defeat today, Monday, against their Iranian counterparts with a score of 18-21, in the Group Stage matches of the second group of the 11th Asian Junior Championship, which serves as a qualifier for the 2027 World Cup. The tournament is being held in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan until August 31, featuring 10 national teams.
Kuwait started the match behind, trailing by four goals in the first half (9-13). The players attempted to stage a comeback in the second half, but time was not on their side, resulting in their second consecutive loss in the tournament.
With this defeat, the “Blue Juniors” remain on two points from one win and two losses, with one final decisive match remaining to secure qualification for the knockout stages against the Saudi Arabian team next Wednesday.
