Jeddah Union to Continue Its Momentum

The league is seeking its second consecutive victory when it hosts Al-Hazem at King Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah, while Al-Qadsiah will face hosts Neom in the opening match of the third stage of the Saudi Professional League on Monday.

The clash between second-placed Al-Hilal and third-placed Al-Ahli was postponed due to the latter’s upcoming match against New Zealand’s Auckland City on Wednesday in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Al-Ittihad enters the match with four points, earned from a 1-1 draw with Al-Kholood and a 1-0 win over Al-Qadsiah, despite playing the second half with ten men after their Senegalese defensive midfielder Dion Lopy was sent off with a red card in the 47th minute.

Al-Hazem, after winning their opening match 2-1 against Abha, suffered an unexpected home defeat to Al-Diriyah 0-1. They hope to return to the winning track despite the difficulty of the task against their host.

Al-Qadsiah aims to bounce back from their home loss to Al-Ittihad in the previous round as they face fifth-placed Neom, who are unbeaten so far.

Neom started strongly with a 2-1 win over Al-Fayha, which they finished with ten men, and a 2-0 victory over Al-Faisaly. They aim to secure their third consecutive win to remain in contention among the top teams, especially as they enter the match with a full squad.

As for Al-Qadsiah, after their 3-1 win over Al-Shabab, they suffered an unexpected home defeat to Al-Ittihad.
