Eroded Privacy... and a Fake Life!
When the secrets and privacy of life are squandered on social media, a person loses the intimacy of their days and the tranquility of their home... and circumstances shift from the best of times to the worst.
When private matters become public issues, and sincere moments lose their value, when family life is exposed to the public eye for the sake of fame and false admiration, and to increase follower counts, it opens the door wide to illusory and destructive comparisons that harm the integrity and stability of the family.
Unfortunately, a strange phenomenon has spread in our conservative societies, where we have been afflicted by groups of people who publicly share details of their daily domestic lives on social media platforms, aiming to gather the largest number of likes!
Regrettably, the phenomenon of following such trivialities on social media platforms is a danger that threatens the collective consciousness of societies, as it leads to distraction, wastes time on superficial content, and undermines objective standards of values and knowledge in favor of cheap sensationalism.
The superficial or empty content posted by these individuals does not necessarily reflect the genuine interests of the general public, nor should it be considered a measure of societal awareness in various fields, whether social, artistic, or sporting!
We see some singers performing actions that violate public decency, arousing disgust, not to mention their inappropriate attire, and a singer who fails to observe modesty, appearing naked while clothed!
2. Monitoring, supervision, and accountability of organizing authorities, and taking strict decisions in case of daring to hold such concerts that contradict the moral fabric of our conservative societies.
3. Revoking concert licenses and preventing the offending party from obtaining future permits when these rules are broken.
Throughout history, people sought role models among scholars and reformers, those endowed with wisdom and knowledge. These are the ones who illuminate minds and guide societies toward progress and refinement. Today, however, standards have changed, and fame is no longer built on knowledge and intellect, but on controversy, sensationalism, exposure, and display.
The problem is not the existence of influencers, but rather the trivial and empty content some of them promote, which weakens awareness instead of building it. Meanwhile, thinkers and educators struggle to reach people, because some digital platforms favor fast and light content over deep thought and meaningful content.
Piety and moderation are the right path. Hence, there must be a complementary educational role among the family, school, and media, with concerted efforts in advice, guidance, and follow-up. These media should be tools in our hands that we use, not tools that use us; we should own them, not be owned by them. We should interact with them only as needed, and not surrender to the foreign values they impose on us. This can only be achieved through self-monitoring and proper awareness of how to engage with them, as they contain both good and evil, beneficial and harmful, useful and detrimental. Therefore, severe caution and warning are necessary when browsing and following these sites, especially for our youth, so that feet do not slip, and evil does not emerge from behind good... and blessings do not turn into curses.
