Interior Ministry: Four suspects arrested in cases of diesel theft and damage to telecommunications towers in the Jabir Al-Ahmad area

The Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Administration of Criminal Investigations – Capital Governorate Criminal Investigations Department, successfully unraveled the mystery of four cases involving diesel theft and the sabotage of telecommunications towers in the Jaber Al-Ahmad area, which had been registered against unknown perpetrators, and apprehended four Indian nationals in the act.
The Ministry of Interior stated in a press release that the arrests followed intensified investigative efforts, the use of modern technological tools, and surveillance of telecommunications towers. It emerged that the suspects were employed by a contracted maintenance company and exploited their roles to siphon double the required amounts of diesel. They used part of the fuel to compensate for shortages in other towers and appropriated the remainder for sale.
The ministry added that, upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to committing these offenses over a two-year period at various locations. Investigations further revealed their involvement in similar incidents across different governorates. Inventory and investigative work are ongoing, paving the way for their referral to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal action against them.
The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its continued efforts to pursue perpetrators of theft and protect vital infrastructure and facilities, emphasizing its firm stance against anyone attempting to tamper with or harm national interests.
