8 killed in plane crash at US Air Force base in Alaska

Alaska Command stated in a press release that the aircraft, which had been chartered by a civilian entity, crashed at the long-range radar site in Cape Newenham, located in the southwestern part of the state.
The release did not clarify why passengers were present at the radar facility, which monitors aircraft operating in Alaska’s airspace.
A spokesperson for Alaska Command said the command is investigating the incident, and the names of the victims will be announced after their families have been notified.
