Ryabkov: Russia ready to accept new ideas for peace in Ukraine

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said on Friday that his country is ready to listen to new proposals on how to reach a settlement of the conflict with Ukraine, but any proposals must reflect “the reality on the ground.”
In an interview with the News.ru news website published on Friday, Ryabkov said that the United States had expressed readiness for “constructive dialogue” and “understanding of Russia’s position.”
He added, “At this stage, the most important thing is to what extent Washington can influence the decisions of the Kyiv regime and its European patrons, who still dream of Russia’s ‘strategic defeat.’”
