Syria: 3 dead and 6 injured in explosion of war remnants in Idlib countryside

Three civilians were killed and six others, including children, were injured in an initial toll from an explosion that occurred inside a house in the village of Ain al-Qasab, near the city of Jisr al-Shughour in western Idlib countryside, on Friday.

Ali Al-Lari, director of the Jisr al-Shughour Operations Center at the Directorate of Emergency and Disaster Management, said initial data indicated that the explosion was caused by explosive materials used for fishing that were stored inside the house.

For his part, Mustafa Baghour, the medical director of Jisr al-Shughour Surgical Hospital, clarified that the injured included children and adults who suffered varying injuries from shrapnel and bruises, with several children transferred to specialized departments in hospitals in the city of Idlib.

Civil Defense teams are still working at the site, amid the possibility that the casualty toll could change as search and rescue operations continue.
