Ambassador Al-Amiri: Enhancing cultural, artistic, and tourism cooperation with Tajikistan

Kuwait’s Ambassador to Dushanbe, Mohammed Al-Amiri, held talks with Tajikistan’s Minister of Culture, Mataloba Khan Starian, to explore ways to enhance and develop cultural cooperation between the two countries across various fields. Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing to develop cultural, artistic, and tourism cooperation, and launching joint initiatives and events that contribute to strengthening bilateral relations and fostering understanding and communication between the peoples of the two countries.
Ambassador Al-Amiri said in a statement to KUNA, following the meeting on Thursday, that the discussions covered the trajectory of cultural relations between the two countries and several issues of mutual interest at both bilateral and multilateral levels, as well as prospects for expanding cooperation in cultural and artistic fields.
He added that the meeting discussed the exchange of delegations and the organization of joint cultural and artistic events and programs, which contribute to showcasing the history, heritage, and culture of both countries and enhancing communication and rapprochement between their peoples. The talks also reviewed the experience of “Tajik Cultural Days,” held in Kuwait from November 11 to 14, 2024, and its contribution to promoting Tajikistan’s heritage, arts, and national culture, as well as supporting cultural exchange between the two countries.
He noted that the discussions also addressed cooperation in the field of crafts and traditional industries, in light of the participation of Tajik artisans in the Second Global Crafts Forum hosted by Kuwait in 2026, stressing the importance of such participation in exchanging expertise and experiences, showcasing craft heritage, and supporting creative industries.
Ambassador Al-Amiri mentioned that the meeting touched upon areas of education and academic exchange, joint research, and cultural programs, as well as cooperation in media, culture, and youth affairs, building on discussions held in October 2024 regarding the enhancement of cooperation in television, radio, culture, and youth.
