Washington Approves Potential Sale of Refueling Aircraft to Doha

It affirmed that the deal serves “U.S. objectives by helping to strengthen the security of Qatar, a strategic regional partner that has been and remains an important force for political stability and economic progress in the Middle East region.”

The State Department clarified that the sale “will also enhance Qatar’s capacity to address current and future challenges, while reinforcing its strategic role in regional security.”
